A Little Story Thingy

So I found this writing competition on the sims website. I didn't really want to enter since I don't really have time for it. But I quickly attempted the first assignment just for fun. Anyway, this was the assignment:

For the first assingment I'd like to see your writing range, so you can do anything you like, with one rule. You have to base it off of your faveourite song! Pictures are optional, but remember, they get you extra points!
If you need any extra info, just leave a messge, after the tone! *beeep!*

What I created wasn't really a story, just kind of the base of a story. It wasn't really based much on the song I chose either, I just got the idea while I was listening to the song. I might expand on the story at some point, I quite like the idea. Well, the song I chose was Waiting For The End by Linkin Park. It isn't really my favorite song, but it is an awesome song. Search for it on YouTube or something if you don't know the song. Anyway, here's my creation (I apologize for any mistakes, I kind of rushed it):

I clutched my sister Amy’s hand as we reached the top of the hill. “Did you get the right place?” she asked looking up at me.
“Yes, we’re going to be fine now,” I said she looked so small and scared. I let go of her hand as I sat down on the dry grass. “Don’t look so scared, soon it’ll all be over,” I told her as she sat beside me. We were lucky really, 2012 really was the end and only a small number of people had survived. We’d been living off tins of food we’d managed to find in the rubble that had once been a city. My city. My home. I looked out to the horizon where the sun was slowly setting in the cold grey sky. I remembered what my mother had said to me, in the last moments of her life she told me she’d seen this all happen in a dream. She told me to wait exactly four weeks before going to the top of the hill on the edge of the city, near the park. There was nothing left of the park now, or the city, but I could still find the hill. She told us to just wait at the top of the hill, as the sun set. I reached into my pocket to pull out the one picture I had left of my family. It was from last summer, in the picture we were all smiling and laughing. I smiled as a tear slid down my cheek.
Suddenly the sky got very dark and a flash of green shot above our heads. I grabbed Amy’s arm and jumped to my feet, not knowing what would happen next. More colours shot through the sky. “What’s happening?” Amy asked.
“We’re going somewhere better, this is just the beginning” I said. The sky turned green, then blue. Suddenly the whole sky was glowing purple and I felt my feet leave the ground. I shut my eyes, terrified. “Open your eyes!” Amy yelled to me sounding happy. I looked around to see we were shooting through a tunnel of light away from the earth. Then it all went dark.

What's Going On?

So you may be wondering why I haven't posted in a very long time. Well, I'm taking a long break from sims (I don't actually know whether I'll go back to playing sims again). Basically, I've kind of got bored with the game. I just don't find it fun anymore. I was going to buy a gaming computer especially for simming, but I realized I don't really play sims anymore, so I just bought an ordinary Dell Inspiron 17r. If I do go back to playing sims I promise I'll start posting again straight away. I doubt that'll happen though. I'm kind of sad because I enjoyed posting here but I don't enjoy sims anymore, so I don't have anything to post about. One day I might start a new blog for my graphics, art, or maybe just my life. If I do that I'll post a link here, so you can see if you like it. I'll probably still post on the Sims 3 forums occasionally, so you might see me there.

Well, I suppose now I'm going to say goodbye now. I hope you all continue to enjoy sims, and thank you for spending time reading my blog.

The Rivers Family Legacy

I have a legacy family that I thought I'd tell you about. I haven't followed the legacy rules, I wanted my sims to have really nice lives. So I used cheats and built them a huge house. I'm not going to turn their lives into a story though, I'll just post updates every so often.

Well, Zara is the legacy founder, she married Darnell and had a son called Lucas (currently a teen), then a daughter called Bree (currently a teen). They got divorced and Zara married Mike, they had a daughter called Jade (currently a child), then a daughter called Abbie (currently a child). I took some pictures of them. The lighting on Darnell's picture is pretty terrible, since he doesn't live with the family anymore I had to go and find him. He works at the Consignment Store so that's where the picture was taken. I don't have a picture of Abbie because she's at boarding school.

I downloaded this lipgloss about a week ago and I've been using it on all of my sims since then. I found it here.

Stop Trying To Draw Hair!

My last couple of posts have been about me trying to draw hair. Today I tried to draw hair again, since I've got my drawing tablet now. It turned out better than my previous attempts. I still need practice though. I think I needed to add more fly aways and improve the shape of the hair.

An Unfinished Hair Drawing

I started drawing this hair. I was trying to follow a tutorial but the texture went all weird. I just decided to use the dodge/burn tool to mess around with the colours and I like how the colours turned out. I think I might draw the hair like in my previous attempt at drawing hair but add the colours from this hair drawing. I like how it makes the hair look like it's flowing. I'd probably blend the colours more next time though.

Second Attempt At Drawing Hair

So I tried drawing hair again. I read a few tutorials but didn't really follow any of them. I created the hair using a mouse as I didn't have my drawing tablet with me. I think the shape of the hair would have been better if I'd used my drawing tablet. There is also something wrong with the shine of the hair. I think I still need plenty of practice.
